If you already know how to knit or crochet and would love to create with a purpose, join local registered knitters with Knitted Knockers and learn how to knit special handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies and other procedures to the breast. The purpose of this class is to help connect volunteer knitters with breast cancer survivors and offer free Knitted Knockers to any woman who wants them. There is a huge demand for Knitted Knockers and once you learn this easy pattern, you can begin filling the need.
Our goal is to assist you in learning the easiest, fastest patterns and stuffing techniques while making a social connection. This will be a free, monthly gathering held on the first Tuesday of the month from 2-4pm at Copper Cat Studio.
Supplies needed :
Contact Donna or Bryn (emails below) to request pattern info, approved yarns list and other supply information. It is important to choose from the yarn selections provided, as they have been shown to withstand washing and reduce irritation to scar tissue and allergies.
